Remember the sweethearts who met while working at the movie theater? Remember how they attended different universities and stayed together? Well, I had the honor of photographing their awesome wedding in N. Houston this past weekend and boy was it HOT. Like, one thousand percent humidity. Nonetheless, it was still a fun wedding. Both Shay and James are really lucky to have each other. You can tell by just looking at them. They’re also very lucky to have some pretty wonderful family and friends. They’re on their honeymoon right now, so I hope they have wifi so they can see these! Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Kris for braving the heat and helping me shoot 🙂
The church was just right down the street so everyone, including the attendees, marched on over to the house for the reception 🙂
Beca + Adam :: Married | Austin Wedding Photographer
This post is slightly different than my usual blog updates. Though, you the viewer/reader, may not notice anything different about it at all. It all looks the same – there’s some text, followed by wedding-related pictures. So…what’s up? Beca is one of my really close friends and I had the distinct honor of being her wedding photographer! People in the industry say that you should never work for your family or your friends, but I did it and it was RAD. You already have some chemistry with your “clients” and all the friends and family know who you are. Although, I think that those two things tend to make me a little bit more nervous than usual. What if they hate the pictures? Will they still be my friends?! Nah….they’ll like ’em. They better! 😉
I’ve known Beca for about 10-or-so years now. There’s a lot of things about her that has changed, and there’s a lot that hasn’t. Lucky for us all, the things that have changed have all been for the better and the things that remained happen to be all of the things that we love about Beca. She’s always been the most spontaneous of my friends and she’s also been one of the most spiritual. Oh, and she laughs at every single one of my jokes, no matter how bad. She’s always so bubbly and full of energy. I’m glad those two things have stuck around. And I am also glad I’ve been able to see her transform into who she is today. Most of all, I’m happy that she found the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with. They had a sweet 50’s themed(awesome dress!) wedding at the Umlauf Sculpture Gardens. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the breeze was blowing and you could feel all the wonderful positive energy in the air. Can’t ask for much more than that! Here are some of my favorite images from the day…I hope you all like them. Special thanks to Mr. Stefano Choi for 2nd shooting this one with me.

Katie + Eric :: Sneak Peek | Austin Wedding Photographer
This past weekend brought me back to the ever-so-lovely Plantation House to photograph Katie and Eric’s gorgeous, detailed wedding. There was a bit of a scare as the weather forecast was anything but favorable up until the day before the ceremony, when the clouds kindly moved out of the way and provided us with an absolutely stunning day! Shooting with me on this day was Magan – who did a great job and happened to be the only one who was able to get Katie’s dress bustled! Here are a few from the day. Congrats to Katie and Eric!!
At last…a full post! I had the great honor of photographing Renee and Andrew’s wonderful wedding last month at one of the neatest venues in town – The Star Hill Ranch – a cool collection of 22 historic buildings from around Texas that have been relocated and restored. It was a beautiful day for a wedding, with cool weather and bright blue skies. A perfect setting for such a cool and laid back couple. It was evident right as soon as I arrived to the venue that these two have an awesome support group made up of a loving family and great friends. Congrats to you both! Thank you so much for allowing myself and Eric Kotara to be a part of your special day. Enjoy.

Cassie + Eric :: Sneak Peek | Austin Wedding Photographer
It’s the weekend and it’s time for a Friday Sneak Peek! Shot this lovely wedding last weekend at the incredible Plantation House with Eric Kotara. Good weather? Check. Great venue? Check. Happy Bride & Groom? Check! Congratulations to Cassie and Eric! Stay tuned for more photos.
At only 18 months old, I think this was the best little flower girl I have ever witnessed! She didn’t cry and she did exactly what she was supposed to do with the pedals and walked right up to the front. 😀
