Shay and James met while working together at the same movie house in Houston. Seven years later(finally!), they decided to take their relationship to the next level. Though I had not met them before this shoot, I could sense that the bond between them was very powerful. You see….they’ve managed to do what so many other couples out there have attempted – a long distance relationship. You’ve heard the story before: boy meets girl, girl attends one university while boy attends another. In their case, even though both universities are in Texas, they were still hundreds of miles apart. An 8 hour drive to be precise. She was at UT while he was at Texas Tech. They remained strong and close the whole time, despite the distance. And as most of us know, the college years tend to pressure us into “finding ourselves” and to “go out and have fun and date people.” Not these two souls. I’m guessing that they knew from early on that they didn’t want to be part of that statistic. Instead, they persevered and did whatever it took to stay together. I think THAT has helped their love for each other grow stronger. If a young couple can pull that off….there’s not much that can stop them. I am honored to be photographing their special day, which I am certain will be filled with lots of love, laughter and emotion. Thanks for having me along, guys! Enjoy![]()

Great series. The parking garage shots are really neat and the shot with them on both sides of that screen is clever.
I love the parking garage shot!!
