Like icing on the cake. That cigarette after a good meal. The cherry that sits on top of your sundae. The finale to Lisa’s Birthday celebration was all those things wrapped up in one. Rather, I should say, wrapped up in rice. It’s not everyday that you get to eat some of the finest sushi your city has to offer. Well, at least not for a mere peasant such as myself. You wouldn’t typically find me in a place like Uchi. A reservations-only kind of place. A dark, swanky and expensive establishment. But hey, it’s my Darling’s birthday and we were going to go all out!
Now Lisa and Sophie aren’t all that comfortable eating raw things that look otherworldly and decorative. But much to my surprise, and theirs as well I’m sure, they somehow conjured up their adventurous spirits and actually ate everything I ordered! Sushi ain’t so bad, people! I used to think it was. Even before I tried it. I automatically thought that raw fish is going to taste like, well, just that…..raw. I feared that it would taste as bad as my memory recalls it smelling. But it isn’t like that at all. It’s quite the contrary and it’s quite delicious. And once you’ve tried it and realized that it wasn’t anything like you expected, you kind of develop a liking for it, a taste for it, and even a craving. See….once your little tastebuds report to your brain that this whole sushi thing isn’t so bad, it becomes more and more enjoyable. Anyways, I’m really proud of the girls for trying and enjoying. It was just as much a treat to watch that as it was to indulge in the consumption of eating one of the worlds finest cuisines. So for all you naysayers out there, I highly suggest you going out to try sushi once again, or for the first time, with an open mind and an open mouth. IT’S SO GOOD. Now….on with the food porn. Enjoy

food and porn… what a combo. To me porn creates an immediate heightened response, draws you in with lofty promises, it pulls your trigger but in the end leaves you empty and spent… pun intended. A majority of the “food” that people consume these days is more like pornography than food… all airbrushed(artificial), sweaty(salt), processed and propagandized. Did you ever notice the picture on the DVD… or box of food always looks 100 times better than what actually comes out of the box? It’s all empty calories, it all leaves you empty.
