Being a Photographer, capturing the perfect moment is something I strive for constantly with anything that I shoot. It’s pressing the shutter button at the right moment, the decisive moment, that will give you an image that speaks to your audience and tells a story. That’s what I love about photography. It offers a glimpse inside a moment that someone else was seeing, feeling and anticipating. Now, I’m not talking about a posed or intentional shot. I’m talking about a shot where you capture the true personality of a subject who’s unaware of anything but themselves, much less you and your camera. Take this image as an example. The composition draws you in. The light directs your attention. And the subject seemingly depicts the mood and the emotion of that particular scene with their actions. There are so many elements that go into creating a photograph. Not just any photograph, though. A good photograph. So the next time your eyes and mind are drawn to a particular picture, stop and think about what it could be that is attracting your attention.
